Towards Global Excellence in the 21st Century:
Development, Environment, and Pathways of Cooperation

Proposals for papers and panels are invited for an innovative conference that will examine the creative and cooperative roles that national governments, international organizations, and NGO’s can play in addressing the crucial economic, environmental, and social problems in an age of globalization.

Co-sponsored by the Regional Science Consortium at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
Held in conjunction with the Beta Beta Beta District Convention


Proposals are especially welcome in the following areas:

  • Prospects for international cooperation and the future of the United Nations

  • A call for creative interaction: governments and NGOs in the 21st century

  • Human rights: national perspectives, international alliances

  • Women and development: breaking the barriers

  • Freedom of information in the digital era

  • Health care and the medical profession: a national and global crisis?

  • Energy options in an age of global industrialization

  • Our threatened ecosphere: conservation as self-defense

 

Proposals in related areas of interest are also encouraged. Selected papers will be published.


Deadline for submission of proposals: February 15, 2008
